| Unchanged by time, Bonchurch is situated half
a mile from Ventnor and three miles from Shanklin. Famous for its
past literary residents, Dickens, Swinburne and Shaw, it also has
the famous landslip walk starting in the village - and not forgetting
the famous pond, a place to watch the ducks and fish lead their
uncomplicated lives to the amusement of the visitors and holidaymakers
alike. |

Modern day Bonchurch has a village shop and
post office, a pub, a blacksmith and a small working repair garage.
We also have an 'old' red telephone box in the village.
We have two churches, one of which is reputedly the smallest eleventh
century Norman church in the country. |

| Our quiet beach, 400 yards from the hotel,
has no amusement arcades, burger bars or hotdog stands. You can
get a cup of Tea and an Ice Cream, and together with a sand and
shingle beach, you get a real bit of old fashioned England. |
